- INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Select eggs without cracks or marks. Wash the eggs. Hard boil them on low flame to avoid cracking. If an egg cracks, do not dye it. 2. Use a kitchen pot/bowl big enough to immerse the eggs. Any type of bowl material (plastic, metal, glass) is good. Add 1 liter (~ 4 cups) of cold or warm water, 150ml (5 fl oz) of vinegar and the dye. In case the dye becomes lumpy just keep stirring until it dissolves. *IMPORTANT: Don't forget vinegar. It is needed for the deep red color 3. Place the eggs into the solution and live them there for 5 minutes. Remove the dyed eggs and place them on an absorbent paper towel for 1-2 minutes until dry. Polish them with olive oil for extra shine.
